Building a 3rd generation company is no easy task. The history and values that were instilled in the 1950's are easily forgotten today. Those values are important to bring along to an ever changing world. Grit and detemination still prove effective in todays's era.
The restoration of Seeley Creek was considered as having significant impact on the removal of BUIs. The Seeley Creek Restoration project resulted in the restoration of 5 acres of riparian wetlands and 1,600' of Seeley Creek. Restoration will repair gully erosion affecting wetland hydrology, manage invasive species, and plant native vegetation. Stream restoration increased channel and habitat stability by altering the channel cross-section; installed 50 artificial riffles to introduce coarse spawning substrates.
Drag to ScrollHelping solve Detroit's massive combined sewer problems by creating storm water runoff capacity within the tight confirms of Detroit proper. This is due to a massive design flaw in the over 100-year-old sewers made by combining sewage treatment lines and stormwater runoff into a single pipe. Now known as a combined sewer system (CSS), its implementation has had long-lasting impacts on the city of Detroit, and the Great Lakes region. It's small steps to solve a century of problems.
A world renowned designer meets Detroit. Anglin Civil was selected from of a slew of contractors to provide the right touch. Oudolf designs connect the history of a site with aspirations for the future of the community. His gardens evoke the natural history of prairies, meadows, and woodlands while still being highly artistic. They are more than just artistry, they attract numerous wildlife — birds, insects and animals — for the enjoyment of all.
A marine dredging project that included a shoreline restoration on the Great Lakes. Done in the winter it was not for the faint of heart as the park needed to be open for spring. Acres of shoreline and aquatic habitat were designed and a plan that included seawall removal and the implementation of bioengineered shoreline stabilization methods combined with habitat structure designs to support native populations of fish, amphibians, macro-invertebrates, herpetofauna and migratory birds.
Drag to ScrollWhen one of the nation’s largest airports needed an entrance that stood out. DTW took their design to Anglin Civil to implement. A project that needed special attention to logistics and proper planning we developed metrics to push towards the finish line. The lighted sculpture spans 40 feet wide and over 30 feet tall to artistically identify a grand entrance.
Habitat improvements at Bell Creek Park / Lola Valley Park including removal of trees and vegetation; invasive species treatment and follow-up treatment; establishment of access and staging; excavation and grading; revegetation; protection of planted areas; restoration of the project site and establishment of native plants and seed.
The contaminated torch lake needs 21st century help. Working with local engineers we have designed and implemented a long-term experiment to understand how to mitigate the contamination in the lake. Cleaner waters ahead! The project spans many years with continued testing to understand the response of the tested materials.
Drag to ScrollAs the grand river eroded the surrounding roadway, Anglin was called in to protect the road and redirect flows. A tight schedule and a tight footprint meant that the project needed a logistical mindset to complete. Anglin crews were onsite as the road shut down and opened early for a successful project.
